Favorite Dental Team
Our practice wouldn’t be able to function without our kind, experienced team members working alongside our dentists. If you have a question about insurance, need to schedule an appointment, or are getting your teeth X-rayed or cleaned, our friendly team is happy to help you and your family have an enjoyable experience in our office. We will take the time to make sure that you are comfortable and feel right at home. Keep reading the information below to get to know us a little better.
Marty Alvarez, Office Manager
Marty is our Office Manager. With over twenty years of dental administrative experience, she can perform 101 tasks behind the scenes with quiet confidence and a smile. She’ll guide you through treatment planning, help arrange convenient financing, and fight your insurance battles. Marty is your “go-to” for problem solving.
Conroe, TX is her home town. She has a passion for music (a self-styled concert junkie), fast power boating, and Disney World. Her son, daughter-in-law, and two small grandchildren live on Maui.
Sabrina Thomas, RDH, Dental Hygienist
Sabrina loves to develop a relationship with her patients and help them maintain a healthy smile. With her professional skills and bubbly personality, she has already cultivated a large loyal following in her first year at our practice. Be sure to ask for her when it’s time to reserve your next appointment.
She was born and raised in Wisconsin and, unlike most Texans, she’s been to – and enjoyed – a football game in minus 25 degree weather (cheering for her Green Bay Packers). Fortunately for us, Sabrina and her husband moved here about four years ago. They have a “wild, wild” 4-year-old son, a “super sweet and sassy” 3-year-old daughter, and a 5-year-old chocolate lab. With such an active family, and a love for shopping, concerts, and exploring Texas, we’re not surprised that Sabrina enjoys (needs?) several Starbucks daily to keep her going.
Sarah Kirby, RDA, Dental Assistant
Sarah has been working chairside, assisting the dentist, for the past six years. When you arrive, she’ll help you get settled in the treatment room, review your health history, answer any questions you might have and, generally, ensure your comfort throughout the visit. We’re so happy to add Sarah’s professional skills and her gentle, calm manner to the exceptional dental health experience we offer our patients.
She’s a home-grown Spring girl. She loves playing with her dogs and working out – but for most of her time in 2019, she’s been watching her fiancé, Austin, play Major League Baseball (Miami Marlins) and planning her fall wedding. She’s a member of WoodsEdge Community Church and, together with Austin, she volunteers with youth sports and helps bring awareness for organ donations.
Carol Salinas-Maldonado, RDH, Dental Hygienist
Carol received her Dental Hygiene degree from Texas State Tech College in her home town of Harlingen, TX. According to her, the best thing about her work is the difference it makes in oral health; and she loves to hear: “My teeth feel so clean!” Since joining our team a couple of years ago, she’s been a true blessing to all our patients and to the entire office staff. There’s something about her easy manner, warm smile, and gentle touch that epitomizes our tagline “We’re family!”
Carol lives with her husband and two daughters. She describes herself as a committed “do-it-yourselfer” and loves to restore furniture in her workshop. On top of all that, she’s now working on a degree in Computer Science. Carol attends the Ark Church in Conroe.
Roberto Torres, RDA, Dental Technician
After 12 years as a successful orthodontist in his hometown Tampico, Mexico, Roberto and his family moved here in 2005; and, it was certainly a lucky day for our practice when he agreed to join our team a couple years ago. He performs a wide variety of technical support tasks in our lab and clinical rooms, and always brings a sense of calm dedication to our patients and the team. As he says: “Everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission… I like being part of something that makes a difference.”
Roberto has two sons in college – one at University of Houston, and the other at University of Oregon. He enjoys golf, fishing, astronomy, and running, and he volunteers at The Woodlands Marathon.
Mark Kelly, Administrator
Mark was a Canadian attorney who retired from his practice in 2003 so he could move to The Woodlands and marry his sweetheart. Since 2004, he has provided administrative support for Solomon Dental Group, allowing the rest of the team to focus on patient care. His leisure activities include the usual senior sports: genealogy, travel, reading and TV binge-watching. He has a large family and loves them all!
Lauren Nickles, RDA, Dental Assistant
Lauren brings energy, initiative, and creativity to our team dynamic. That’s exactly why we hired her five years ago, even before she received her certification as a chairside assistant. We consider her our Jill-of-all-trades, capable of quickly stepping in to care for a patient or to help any coworker with chairside assisting, administrative tasks, or lab work.
She’s originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but Texas has been her home since age six. She grew up in Huntsville, attended Sam Houston State, and eventually settled in The Woodlands. Lauren and her husband enjoy cooking (he cooks, she bakes), traveling, any outdoor activities, and attending live shows. But family and friends top the list of what’s most important to her!
Nikki Wolfe, RDH, Dental Hygienist
Nikki has been in dentistry almost 30 years, the last 12 of which as a hygienist at Solomon Dental Group. She is known for her breadth of knowledge, exceptional skills, and the personal touch she brings to every patient relationship. Her list of dedicated patients is long.
She grew up in Idaho and obtained her hygiene training there and in Arizona. After having had the opportunity to experience several dental settings, Nikki made her way to Tacoma, Washington, where she acquired a number of extended skills, including: placement of fillings, Invisalign orthodontic treatment, Myobrace training, and laser therapy, and she became qualified to administer anesthetic (which unfortunately is not allowed for hygienists in Texas).
Outside the office, Nikki is an avid supporter of her two children – her son in high school running and competitive fishing, and her daughter who also enjoys running, as well as performance arts and Ariel silks. After many years of running, Nikki herself has now switched to endurance cycling and finds relaxation in yard work. (“You can take the girl out of Idaho, but you can’t take Idaho out of the girl!”)
