Dental Insurance

We work with all insurance companies, although we are not "in network" with any. However, a majority of our patients do have insurance of one type or another and we can file on all PPO plans. If there’s any concern, we are always glad to do a complimentary benefits check before you come in. We're proud to be an independent practice that does not discriminate between insured and non-insured patients.

Usual & Customary Fees

At Solomon Dental Group, everyone receives the same level of exceptional service, and all charges are based on the usual and customary fees for our area. If you're wondering what "usual and customary for our area" means, consult www.fairhealth.org. This consumer-friendly website is run by an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing fairness and transparency to dental fees everywhere. We are consistently within 5% (+/-) of their fee guidelines. If you are an insured patient, your insurance company may base its allowances on a fixed fee schedule, the details of which are often kept secret from us. Their fee schedule may or may not coincide with our usual and customary fees.

How is My Coverage Determined?

You should be aware that different insurance companies vary greatly in the types of coverage available. Also, while some companies take care of claims promptly, others delay or deny payment for several months. In the final analysis, your specific policy is an agreement between you (or your employer) and your insurance company. It is something over which we have no control. All of these dealings with insurance companies and various plans can cause frustration for you and for us. Rest assured that, in spite of those frustrations, we will always remain vigilant and true to our role as advocate for our patients' rights.
